News Round-Up – March 2021

Newmanor Law sent out the latest edition of our newsletter, the Newmanor Law Download, this week. Our bimonthly newsletter covers important updates on current commercial property news, as well as the latest happenings in the firm.

From the Editor

Since our last Download the government has launched its roadmap out of lockdown and I am sure like me there has been a lot of circling of dates on calendars. We have already got past the first hurdle, March 8th, and children are gradually returning to school. Cerys is understandably relieved that her home-schooling duties are at an end. From today, we will be able to gather together in parks and gardens. Better still, from 12th April we can all have a drink outdoors in a pub or restaurant, maybe even sooner if the legal challenge is successful.

Since our last edition we have recruited our first legal director, Adel Shetty, who is a real estate finance expert. He joins us from Freeths and used to work with James at Nabarro. Hiring Adel is part of the next phase for Newmanor Law in which we will be building out the team to serve our clients even better.

What of the rest of the team? Kelly has been in New Zealand where she qualified as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand earlier this month. Anne has also now qualified and is the proud owner of her first practicing certificate. Millie has now returned to work having recovered from long COVID which you can read more on below. James and I have been busy launching our small ticket property finance and lease renewal products. We also chaired a very successful breakfast round table on the subject “is the traditional office dead?”. Until next time…
