News Round-Up – January 2022

From the editor

When James and I founded Newmanor Law I was in Jamaica and we both agreed we should set the firm up so we could work seamlessly anywhere in the world. We also chose our IT solutions on this basis and resolved to use technology to innovate as well as to create efficiencies. I am once again in Jamaica to celebrate my mother’s birthday and even with the time difference I have been able to attend zoom meetings and work seamlessly.

Back in Blighty we have had return-to-work Monday, but James and our new partner, Alex Pelopidas, both tell me the city is still not back to previous levels. Hybrid working is now the main talking point for a lot of employers, for some it is hybrid for others it is agile working, but what we are all seeking to find is our new normal.

What of the rest of the team? We have had a busy January, with 8 matters concluded this month. Away from fee earning, our new partner Alex Pelopidas has been busy out and about with James reconnecting with all of his commercial property finance connections making sure all his contacts and clients now know he is at Newmanor Law. Anne has been on extended leave. Kelly and Ella have been busy helping with our Niche Firm events in Anne’s absence. Cerys has been busy doing even more warranties and construction reports. Edmund has been leading our charge on LinkedIn, Millie has been tweeting religiously and Clodagh is now leading on Instagram. James and I are once again doing the PI rounds for our renewal in March.
