This is bread and butter work for us. Many of our core lender clients are development finance specialists, who offer a variety of development, bridging and exit products to the market. Our team of finance, real estate and construction lawyers seamlessly work together to deal with the necessary finance documentation, property and construction reporting and security package.

We have extensive experience acting for lenders on syndicated/club loans and for loan servicers engaged by such lenders. We also know our way around intercreditor arrangements and related documentation.

• Agreement of finance documents for senior and mezzanine lenders, including intercreditor deeds
• Acting for facility agents and security agents on loans and ensuring usual protections are contained in the finance documents

We have completed a number of loan on loan transactions for a variety of clients. Our knowledge of underlying loan documentation helps with this process and many of the loan on loans, which we have dealt with, were made to lenders for whom we have acted for separately. This reflects the lenders’ confidence in us and helps with the loan on loan process.

Where loan covenants need to be re-opened or terms need to extended, we are on-hand to implement the requirements in the most cost-effective and timely way. We will also advise lenders on the effects of changes to security and provide updated reporting where required.

When things start to go (or have gone) wrong on a loan, we know that lenders need responsive and focussed advice on what to do. We have the breadth of knowledge to deal with any distressed loan or asset. This comes from guiding lenders through serval market down turns and, during that time, working with a variety of insolvency professionals in a range of scenarios.
