From the editor
Spring has sprung and we have all been buoyed by the sunny weather enjoyed over the Easter holidays. Pasque flowers have been out in lots of different colours and coupled with the daffodils we all feel more hopeful moving into the second quarter of the year. The market horizon is not looking as cheerful as the cost-of-living squeeze tightens for all but we are hopeful for better days ahead and the end to the war in Ukraine.
At Newmanor we were delighted to have been nominated for boutique firm of the year in the Modern Law Awards. We have still not won but we feel we are getting ever closer. We also enjoyed hosting our first Newmanor webinar. Thank you to all who joined on the day and to our panellists Niall Brown (Auxilium Real Estate), Andrew Weeks (Savills), and Richard Payne (Adair). Our second one is already in the pipeline…scroll down our newsletter for more information.
What of the team? Our new partner Alex Pelopidas continues to be busy out and about with the two of us reconnecting with his commercial property finance contacts and spreading the Newmanor word. Anne continues to be on extended leave. Cerys has been busy doing even more warranties and construction reports and has also ventured abroad skiing with her family for the first time in a couple of years. Edmund has been busy balancing work with looking after 4 dogs and has shared some of the amazing pictures on LinkedIn. Ella had a bad bout of norovirus but has now recovered. We have also had a new joiner Mandy Purewal who joined the team on 20 April. Mandy qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and already has over eight years’ experience in the law including her time as a paralegal. Finally, as co-founders, we are continuing to look at how we can improve our processes to achieve the best results for our clients.
Until next time…
